Today the girls had the opportunity to listen to Barbara Barrington Jones speak about what it means to Be Distinguished. I remember this workshop being so inspirational last year and I this is exactly what the girls needed to hear. When I checked in on them I saw lots of laughter and tears. After some rehearsing we were off to Wintzells Oyster House for lunch.
Here I was able to reveal my picture that will hang on the wall FOREVER!! It was one of the coolest moments in my life; I can’t believe I am a part of this legendary tradition and sisterhood! Thank you so much Wintzells for going above and beyond in your efforts to support this program. You all have made such a positive difference in my life. I got to be official time keeper for the Annual Oyster Eating Contest. WOO! The winner this year was Abby from Delaware who downed an unbeatable 52 oysters in 5 minutes. Can you believe that?!?! I’m still impressed. 
Then I was able to visit two of our sponsors, Thompson Engineering and Regions Bank which was so much fun. I love meeting the people behind our program who are so passionate about what we do. 
In the evening all the girls came to my host family’s house (yes all 50 girls) for a fiesta and pool party! Which quickly turned into a movie night once the rain decided to pay a visit. The relaxation was much needed though. I want to give a huge shout out to my Host Mom and Dad, Creath and Steve. I actually think they are Super Man and Cat Woman because they have pulled off stunts I never dreamed were possible these 2 weeks and all year. You all have welcomed me into your family and loved me as one of your own. There is no way to explain how grateful I am for your involvement in my life and for the support you have given me this year. I’m going to miss you so much when this is all over!! 🙁
When all the girls cleared out, I walked up to my room to be surprised with the new REESES PEANUT BUTTER CUP OREOS AND LEMON OREOS from Victoria! THANKS SIS! Now I’m sleepy. Good niiiiigggghhhhttt!!!
