I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE!

#DOSTUFF

One of my favorite things to “do” is be with people and tell stories. I love it when I find myself engaged in a conversation with someone as they take me on an adventure through a story in their life. Today I caught up with one of my best friends Meryn Adami. We baked this yummy dessert and she told me all about her summer serving in La Jolla (pronounced hoy-yah, not jaw-luh;) California.

I am so proud to call you my friend Meryn and am so thankful God put you in my life. You are always such an inspiration to me and believe in me when I don’t even believe in myself. You always make people feel loved and I want to be more like that.

This evening we had dinner with the famous Laureano family, who is back from England for a little vacation in America! Boy have we missed y’all!! We made them a great american dinner consisting of BBQ chicken, mac and cheese, broccoli and salad. Aside from the food though, it was great to just spend time with this family that brings so much light to everyone they meet.

In 2010 God gave us this family as neighbors, then me and my sister’s legal guardians, young life leaders and four years later, even though they live across the pond, they are as close as family. It’s still sad they moved away 2 years ago, but to see them follow through in obedience to the Lord is remarkable and overpowers any feeling of sadness.

I would like to challenge you to spend time with the people you’re with. Whether it’s your family or a friend you haven’t seen in a while, invite someone over and share a meal with them. Call the neighbors you haven’t talked to in 5 years, or better yet, go knock on the next door and MEET the neighbors you haven’t taken the time to get to know. Set your phone aside or any other piece of technology and just spend TIME with that person or people. Tell stories and build each other up. It’s amazing how much you can learn from people when you actively listen and engage in conversation. Let’s not lose that skill.

It’s really simple. All you have to do is create the opportunity. Open the door and the rest will happen on it’s own. Send the invitation and see where the conversation takes you.

Love always,

Nicole Renard #dostuff #realtalk
