I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE!

God speaks to me in the most unique ways. Some ways are more expensive than others. Today, He chose to speak to me in one of the more expensive ways when I dropped my brand new iPhone 6. Yep. Bummer.

I probably should have bought a case for that.

As I stared at my shattered screen in disbelief, I felt like I was looking at my own life, lying pathetically on the sidewalk. Perfectly put together, shiny on the outside, fully functional and then one simple drop. One fall that smashes everything. Shattered. In pieces.

Part of me wanted to crumple up next to it, cry and hold up a sign saying “repair needed”.

{This is where Jesus came in and rocked my world}

Without Jesus we are like an iPhone with no phone case. One day (if it hasn’t happened already) you are going to hit rock bottom and shatter into pieces. (If you’re like me, you’ve shattered about a million times now)

Jesus is like the repair man who swoops in, (when you call on Him), and restores your iPhone (AKA your life) to what it was originally designed and created to be. He gives you a brand new body, an unbreakable, Holy body.

{He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.}- Psalm 147:3

Some people live their lives and never fix the broken screen. They hit rock bottom and shatter, but don’t want to pay the price of the repair so they walk around and are never able to function at their fullest potential because their life (and iPhone screen)  is broken! Friends! He doesn’t want you to stay like that! Like your phone screen, it’s going to cost you to fix your life, but the price is worth way more than a thousand screen repairs because it is eternal.

The cost is surrendering yourself and letting God be in control of your life. The gift is free and the cost is a lot, but it’s eternal.

By saying yes to the repair, you are saying yes to a life with Jesus. A full life. A complete life. Life the way it was meant to be lived; no shatters or broken pieces.

{And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.}- 1 Peter 5:10

The next greatest thing that happened to me today was after I got my phone screen fixed. I went right to the store and bought a screen protector and phone case.

When we accept Jesus into our lives, He slips His armor around you and becomes you eternal shield. He protects you like a phone case so the next time you drop, He takes the hit and not you.

He catches you in His big, Fatherly arms and never lets you shatter again. That is some good news.

So although it was terrible timing and I really didn’t want to spend that amount of money as I’m trying to save up for New Zealand, I’m so thankful my phone shattered today.

I never would have learned that valuable lesson without it. I hope by sharing my story with you, you are able to find where you land in the story and see where Jesus fits in the picture.

Do you need a new screen? Are you shattered? Or maybe you’ve been restored, but you need Jesus to be your phone case so you don’t shatter again. Wherever you find yourself, I want you to know that you deserve and are meant to live like a brand new iPhone 6 with no scratches or dents, covered with the life proof case of Jesus. You are remarkable.

{He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.} Psalm 23:3

Upward and onward,
