Hi Friend!

People ask me why I trust God & praise Him even when things don’t go my way? It’s a valid question because why thank Him when bad things happen?
When things don’t happen on my timeline or how I think they should happen, it’s easy to blame God and pout about why He would allow something like that and I forget that He is good regardless of what happens to me.
If I let the outcome of events determine my joy, then praising God doesn’t make sense when bad things happen, but when my joy is based on Jesus, it does, because even if my circumstances change, He doesn’t. He is always good. Events on earth don’t surprise God or change His character. He’s the only thing that’s constant. He never changes. Never fails. Never gives up. Ever.
“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10
That’s why I can praise Him when things go bad. Because He’s the same God in any situation. His love is the same in the valleys as it is on the mountain tops.
If my joy was dependent on my circumstances, then I would be a very unstable human because if life flips upside down & heads in a different direction, then so does my identity & sanity. But if my joy depends on Jesus, then I know my soul is anchored & wont be shaken when things get rocky. Again, because He is the one constant and He never changes.
“We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” – Hebrews 6:19
I don’t find identity in outcome of events or titles or “things” because it’s never guaranteed, but God is. I can praise Him always because He’s the same yesterday, today & forever and His love for you and me never fails.
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.” – Hebrews 13:8
If you find yourself frustrated because things aren’t going your way or didn’t go as you’d hoped, thank God for your situation and praise Him in the midst of your adversity. Acknowledge that although your circumstances don’t look good, He is good and you TRUST HIM. Thankfulness, praise and trust can go a long way and give you a fresh perspective for whatever trial you are facing.

We don’t always know what God is doing in our lives but if we give him our hearts and are willing to serve him then the RESULTS are always in his hands. Trust that he accomplished what he wanted. He is rejoicing over you.
