Vanilla Chai Cookies
Ingredients:
- 2¾ cup AP Flour
- 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
- 1 tsp Baking Soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 4 tsp Chai Powder
- 1/4 tsp cardamom
- 1 Cup Unsalted Butter, Softened
- 1 Cup White Sugar
- 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 2 tsp Vanilla
Topping:
- 1/4 Cup Sugar
- 1.5 Tbs Chai Powder
Directions:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, cardamom and chai powder.
- In a separate bowl, use a stand mixer or hand mixer to cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
- Add eggs and vanilla and beat for 1 to 2 more minutes.
- Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix on low until the flour is incorporated. Do not over mix!
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes or overnight. This will prevent the cookies from spreading.
- Preheat oven to 350.
- For the topping mix the sugar and chai powder in a small bowl.
- Scoop the dough into balls and roll in the chai sugar mixture.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 7 to 10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are just starting to brown.
- Let cool on a cooling rack and ENJOY!
