Vanilla Chai Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2¾ cup AP Flour
  • 2 tsp Cream of Tartar
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 4 tsp Chai Powder
  • 1/4 tsp cardamom
  • 1 Cup Unsalted Butter, Softened
  • 1 Cup White Sugar
  • 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2 tsp Vanilla

Topping:

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, cardamom and chai powder.
  2. In a separate bowl, use a stand mixer or hand mixer to cream butter and sugar together until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla and beat for 1 to 2 more minutes.
  4. Pour the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and mix on low until the flour is incorporated. Do not over mix!
  5. Refrigerate the dough for at least 30 minutes or overnight. This will prevent the cookies from spreading.
  6. Preheat oven to 350.
  7. For the topping mix the sugar and chai powder in a small bowl.
  8. Scoop the dough into balls and roll in the chai sugar mixture.
  9. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 7 to 10 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are just starting to brown.
  10. Let cool on a cooling rack and ENJOY!
