Ben the Ice Cream Man

 

 

 

 

This is Ben. The photo on the left was taken two years ago and the photo on the right was taken last night at the Ghirardelli Chocolate Store in Orlando. When I told him I remembered him he started telling stories about his life and the history of Disney. Then he left and returned with 14 new chocolate squares for my Ghirardelli Chocolate Square collection.

This mans generosity and friendship warmed my heart and left me wanting to be a better person. I’m quickly learning that it’s not the place or event that make life special. It’s the people.

Everyone was created with a unique and special story that was meant to be shared with the world. Don’t get too distracted that you don’t hear them. Invest in people’s lives and show them you care by making them feel important.

Once they’ve told you their story, tell them yours so they can be inspired by the light you shine. Your life is beautiful and your story has power to change people’s lives. Even if you think you don’t have anything to offer, don’t underestimate the value of words and lifting people up. You may say something that is the perfect thing someone needs at just the perfect time. Use your words to speak life and keep making the world a better place.
