After living in Southern California for the last 4 years, it’s hard not to miss the palm trees, never ending sunshine and buzz of the city. I’m so grateful to my family and the Miss WA organization for giving me some time off for some much needed R&R in one of my favorite places on earth.
First I have to give a shout out to my precious Grandpa Doy for letting me stay with him all week. From our breakfast chats, helping me get a car and our constant laughs, I will cherish the time spent with you forever.
Grandpa Doy laughing at something ridiculous I said.
I started my trip making my favorite drive through Santa Monica up iconic Pacific Coast Highway to Malibu where I spent the night with my darling friend Sterling.
I’ve seen a million people post about Malibu Farm on Instagram and have always wanted to go there so she humored me for breakfast on the beach.
I could seriously eat here every morning and never get sick of it.
Eggies with veggies and Quinoa Oatmeal with Coconut Milk. HOLY YUM.
Running into Savvy Shields on the sidewalk (literally) made my life and it was right before I had lunch with Sam Haskell!! I love pageant life & pageant fam.
Praise the lord for Salt and Straw and all their weird, bizarre, AMAZING flavors. Just found out we have one in Seattle (BLESS!!!)
To be honest, a majority of my time was spent eating ice cream and at Disneyland because as much as I love everything about California, the main reason I went was because my Disneyland annual pass expired on September 28th and I wanted to go as many times as possible before it was gone forever.
Everything in Disney is decked out in my favorite colors for fall and there are pumpkins EVERYWHERE. It’s a literal dream.
Immediately drawn to any kind of flower anywhere.
Cars Land is my favorite. Always. And they decorated it for Halloween this year so it’s extra cute. I’m obsessed. I couldn’t leave.
Had to take a million pics on Paradise Pier because next time I come it won’t be Paradise Pier! They are changing it to Pixar Pier.
This is gonna be a TBT soon y’all!!
Goodbye Paradise Pier :’)
Happy Halloween from me and Daisy!
I’ve been in denial of them taking down Tower of Terror and changing to to Guardians of the Galaxy, but I finally got over myself and went on it this trip. Y’all. I never thought I would say this but it was actually really fun. It did not disappoint!
Shout out to my Disney Buddy Molly. She’s the cutest.
And my lunch from Green Tomato Grill. It was pretty cute too and SO bomb.
The Teacups will never get old. I will always go on them…especially after a Venti Pumpkin Spice Latte. 😉
When I was little I used to want to have an Alice in Wonderland themed bedroom with an old teacup from the ride with a giant pillow in it for a chair. TBH, I still want that room.. Hey Disney!! Do you have any extra cups?!
And with these cute little lanterns for lights. Wouldn’t that be cute?!
yup. Give me a giant pillow and I’ll be set.
Always struggling.
On my Disney Day 2 I met up with my OG Disney girl, Kelsey who flew in from Disneyland Paris the night before to go with my on her birthday!! (She got me these ears from DL Paris… aren’t they precious?!) Why did she fly across the world to go to Dland with me you ask? Because we got reservations to CLUB 33!!!!! AH! This experience was too exciting to not give it a blog post of it’s own so hang tight. An in depth description of my lunch at Club 33 is on the way. 🙂
Highlight of my trip was spending time with my best friend Molly Kate Kestner. We met through Distinguished Young Women and then through God’s grace, He brought us back together in California a few years ago. She’s such a talented singer (check her out on spotify) but an even more incredible human being. Love you MK. Also, love you Urth Caffe…. THIS LUNCH.
Molly and I scored tickets to the Museum of Ice Cream, which I’ve been dying to go to since they opened in APRIL. A museum filled with ice cream is everything you would imagine it to be and more. Let me take you through this awesomeness.
Hello? Yes we’d like a double scoop please.
I think they should seriously consider changing the Hollywood sign to this.
The bananas on the wall were scratch and sniff!!! But they said not to scratch them so they were just sniff.
Thinking about these as my new evening wear shoes, yeah?
They said don’t touch the bananas, but I got excited and put my monkey arms out and hit all of them. Sorry MOIC. :/
This reminds me of when Lana got coned in Princess Diaries.
Life size Gummy Bears!! WHAT.
A little stop by the Beverly Hills hotel is always good for the soul.
Acai bowls. A California must. It might be hard to believe but I did eat more than just ice cream and made some healthy choices along the way. 🙂
My heart is so full and spirit recharged after spending time in California and I’m counting down the days until I can go again. Thank you to all my people for the memories. Be back soon.
Love always,
Nicole xx #DoStuff
