I wish you could have been with me on my little road trip to Portland because it was one of the most beautiful drives I think I’ve ever taken.
Red, Yellow, Orange and Gold trees lined both sides of the road as I headed south for a weekend of exploring.
Pine Street Market is the cutest little place to grab food. It’s like a glorified food court with some really unique foods!
I had Spanish Chicken and salad from Pollo Bravo and it was mighty tasty.
I heard from a friend that I should try Wiz Bang Bar (which is also in Pine Street Market) but I didn’t realize until I got there that is a Salt and Straw sister company!! So I knew immediately I was going to love it. See THIS BLOG to know why.
I had the Brown Butter Blondie Sundae and literally almost died. Blondie on the bottom, chocolate soft serve on the top with fudge, caramel, and caramelized hazelnuts. OMG.
In the morning I grabbed a Blueberry Bourbon Basil donut and Apple Fritter at Blue Star Donuts and then walked down the street to a cool little coffee shop called Oracle where I had a Butternut Chai Tea with Macadamia Nut Milk. WHOA. My taste buds were dancing and it wasn’t even 9 in the morning.
Then I headed to Hawthorne Boulevard to do some major exploring and found cute little houses like this one.
I also came across so many cute little trinket shops that made me want to buy every card, magnet, pin and coffee mug in the shop.
I went to Harlow for lunch and had pesto mac and cheese. Everything there is gluten free and dairy free. Praises for health food.
Powell’s Book Store was so incredible. I’ve never seen so many books!!
I couldn’t go to Portland without visiting the OG Salt and Straw. Y’all they had some weird flavors for Halloween this year…blood pudding, matcha with chocolate covered crickets… I just stuck with the classic snickerdoodle cookie dough and almond brittle with salted ganache.
The ground was covered in pink leaves and I felt like I was in Heaven.
My dad got into town so we grabbed dinner at Mother’s Bistro and Bar. YALL. Such a cute restaurant. It’s in this cool vintage style house that reminded me of the Haunted Mansion from Disneyland. They nominate a different mom every month to celebrate and showcase in the restaurant. It’s precious. I HIGHLY recommend this place for dinner.
I took pops to Wiz Bang Bar so he could experience it in all it’s glory. This time I tried the strawberry coconut sorbet with the blackberry shell and WOW. Dad got the Rock Road Cone.
Had so much fun at my first Starbucks Meet Up in Vancouver. Thank you all for coming out!!
The view from Pittock Mansion is unreal and walking around the house property made me feel like I was someone really important. This is a fun hidden gem if it’s a nice day and you’re looking for something to do.
Not too far from there is Washington Park with so many beautiful walking trails and gardens. I could have easily gotten lost in there.
I love my sister so much.
We ended the trip with a Trail Blazers game and I left early to get back to Seattle for an appearance at the Seahawks game the next morning. (Blog coming soon)
Thank you Portland for the memories. I will be back soon!!
