I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE!

Everything in this world only has value because we give it value.

Your favorite t-shirt has more value to you than a random t-shirt at Wal-Mart and a project you’re working on probably is very valuable to you because of all the time you’ve put into it. Money only has value because we agree it’s worth a certain dollar amount. Without that value it’s just a piece of paper.

Have you ever wondered what your value is and who gets to decide what that value is? Usually, we take it upon ourselves to decide our value and it’s usually based off of how we feel in a particular moment and how we have performed that day.

We decide how “worth it” we are and end up limiting how much we allow ourselves to be loved by God from how much we think we deserve. Without even thinking, we combine our feelings with our circumstances and land on a certain value we let define our worthiness. Can any one relate to this??!?!

Since when did our value become a math equation and OUR decision to decide how much God is able to love us on a particular day??

We limit our own selves from receiving all that God has for us because our inability to see our own value shuts the gates and puts up walls that say no to the blessings He’s trying to deliver. And all because we don’t think we earned it that day.

Never once does Jesus say, “You did some really great things today, but you also messed up once or twice and I’m not feeling very generous today so you’re going to get less love than usual.” But that’s how we think!! We treat ourselves like less than birds because we define our own value rather than looking to God who gives us our value. And He says we are of more value than the sparrows.

“Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?” –Matthew 6:26

Let’s get one thing straight. God doesn’t subtract our failures from our achievements to arrive at some mediocre number that tells Him how much love we deserve for that day. His love cannot be bought by good deeds and cannot be earned through our works. We don’t deserve His love. Period. We never will. His love and blessing is a free gift because we are valuable to Him.

Knowing that, what you do or don’t do in life doesn’t change your value because it has nothing to do with what you do, but everything to do with what He did. Make sense?

In other words, your value comes from the finished work on the cross and the fact that we couldn’t save ourselves, so Jesus died and took our place so we could have His place in Heaven. We don’t deserve it, we didn’t earn it, but we can receive it because to Him we are valuable and nothing in this Earth, no one on this Earth, nor any of our successes or failures can change that or take that away.

WHOO THAT’LL PREACH!! Isn’t that nice to know that you’re future is secure in Christ?!

“For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son; that whosoever believes in Him, shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” –John 3:16

That’s why we love Him and that’s why we live for Him, because He first loved us and saved us from something we would have never been able to get out of on our own. He formed and crafted value into each of our bodies and it’s His desire to spend eternity with us in Heaven. If you’ve never experienced that love or relationship or, quite frankly have no idea what I’m talking about and think I’m some crazy lady, I would love to talk about it with you and try to answer any questions you have.

“We love because He first loved us” -1 John 4:19

I know I don’t have all the answers, but what I do know is that we have a God who loves you so incredibly much and who sees value you in you when you can’t even see value in yourself. That God wants to bless you, love you and do amazing things in your life.

Instead of coming up with your value based on what you think you’re worthy of today, leave that to the one who knows how many hairs are on your head and died so you could know how much you are worth it.

“Indeed the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” –Luke 12:7

I love you so so much and hope this message encouraged you today. If it did, do me a favor and share it with a friend you think could use a little lifting up. If you have any questions please ASK and also let me know how I can be praying for you. My prayer this week is that you would experience God’s love in a new, real and tangible way like you never have before and that He would reveal to you just how special you are to Him. Thanks for reading today.

Much love,
Nicole xx #DoStuff

This is a beautiful post Nicole! Thank you for sharing! Amen sister! Our value and worth is not in our day-to-day performance, but rather in the everlasting grace of Jesus. No matter what the world says about needing to look or act a certain way in order to be accepted, we need to remember that our worth is not in our imperfections, but in the perfectness of how God sees and loves us.
    Blessings to you!
