Brains are crazy. I can’t wrap my mind around their complexity; it’s both amazing and confusing at the same time. They have the ability to think up things no one has thought of before and then figure out a way to make it work. They can store so much information but at the same time not remember what was said 10 minutes ago.
What’s also crazy to me is how our thoughts shape the way we live, the way we see the world and the way we treat people.
How many times a day do you use the word “stressed” or “busy”? For me, I lost count. These words, along with other negative words, do nothing but pollute our minds and hold us back from living our best lives. I’ve noticed that just a slight change in wording can dramatically change my day and allows me to accomplish so much more.
When you say things like “stressed” you actually become more stressed because you’re stressed about being stressed.
Being “busy” and having a lot going on is not a bad thing but we let “busy” become an attitude and all of a sudden we are quick to snap back and don’t have time for friends and family or things that matter.
Whenever we get overwhelmed, we fill our mind with negativity and we give plenty of room to the things that are the exact opposite of the things we need to. When times get tough, we want to gossip, complain, we become discouraged, and start to take things into our own hands.
When times get tougher, what we really need to give plenty of room to, is Jesus. We need to fill our minds with truth, claim scriptures over the lies and TRUST that leaving it in God’s hands is far better than taking it into our own.
We need to claim victory over hopeless situations and shout praises of thankfulness even if the circumstance doesn’t call for it.
Our brains listen and they know!!! Words make a huge difference so we need to stop filling them with junk and start filling them with truth. This goes for your situations, words you think about others and words you think about yourself.
Want to live a big, audacious, joy filled life? Start thinking wider, believing for bigger and hoping for more.
Changing the way you think will change the way you live. These small adjustments in the little things you tell yourself every day will be the difference between a small, limited, narrow life and a big, faith filled, joyful life.
Do you struggle with thinking positive things? Think about the top 3 negative thoughts you think on a daily basis and then come up with a counter thought for each one that you can speak to yourself every time that thought comes into your head.
The only way to combat negative thinking is to squash it as soon as it comes out. If this encouraged you leave a comment and some love on my last instagram post and share with a friend you think could use it too.
