Okay real talk: the second someone in our house starts sniffling I go into full prevention mode. I am not catching whatever is going around, I refuse. These homemade immunity shots have become my first line of defense and I make a batch the moment I feel anything coming on or honestly just as a weekly reset when life gets busy and I can feel my body starting to run down. Three ingredients, five minutes, and you have something that actually works and tastes like you mean business.
Orange, lemon, and ginger is one of those combinations that has been doing its job long before wellness culture made it trendy. Fresh orange and lemon juice bring a serious hit of vitamin C and antioxidants, and ginger is one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory, immune boosting ingredients you can put in your body. Together they make a shot that is bright, zingy, a little spicy, and genuinely effective. Is it the most pleasant thing you’ll ever drink? It’s a shot, so no. But does it work? Every single time.

You do not need a juicer to make these, though it helps. If you have a high speed blender, just blend everything together and strain the pulp out through a fine mesh strainer or a nut milk bag. The blender method takes maybe two extra minutes and gets you the exact same result. I’ve made these both ways and honestly the difference is minimal. What matters is getting that fresh juice into a small glass and drinking it fast, preferably while making a face and then immediately feeling like you can take on the world.
Make a big batch on Sunday, pour them into small mason jars or shot glasses, and keep them in the fridge for the whole week. They last about five days and honestly get a little more intense in flavor as they sit, which I personally love. Whether you’re already fighting something off or just want to give your immune system a running start, keep this recipe in your back pocket. You’ll be glad you have it.
