I really don’t like messing up. I’m really hard on myself and sometimes feel like God is looking down on me with raised eyebrows wondering, “How is she still such a failure after all I have done for her?”
But if while we were still sinners, Christ died for us, will His love change now that we’re saved?
“But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
– Romans 5:8
If God drew near to us when we wanted nothing to do with Him, will He be distant now that we want a relationship with Him?
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
– Pslam 34:18
God saved, loved and chose us while we were weak. We didn’t have to clean ourselves up first. He didn’t say, “Meet me half way”.
He dumped grace on us and brought us out of the ashes, into His glory. If He loved us in our mess then, He’ll love us in our mess now.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. – Pslam 40:2
