Cuisine American
- 1 ½ cups apple cider
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup peeled chopped apple
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- Pinch nutmeg & allspice
Combine cider, sugar, apple, and spices in a saucepan.
Simmer 10–12 minutes on medium-low until the sugar dissolves and mixture thickens slightly.
(You don’t want it reducing too much — aim for maple syrup consistency while warm.)
Use an immersion blender to blend apples into the syrup. (can skip this step if you don’t have an immersion blender)
Strain out the apple pieces (important for shelf life + smooth texture).
Cool, then store in an airtight jar in the fridge up to 2 weeks.
