I have long legs and tend to walk very fast. Maybe it’s because I get really excited about things or maybe it’s because of anxiety, but either way, I get ahead of myself and forget that the people next to me are on a light jog trying to keep up.
I feel like I have spiritual long legs too. I’m so passionate about God’s purpose that I the energy builds up and my long legs take off down a path ‘I think’ is right for me.
Having good intentions and the drive to do God’s will is great, but not if we don’t yield to His timing. We might think the “right plan” for our life looks a certain way but don’t forget God can see more than we do and He usually has a different, better way of doing things.
His timing is perfect and if we truly want His best plan for our lives, it’s our job to let Him lead and His job to be in charge of when we get there.
In our eyes, the ‘best thing’ that can happen to us is winning and we fall for this lie that tells us, “if God loves me then I should win all the time” but that’s not true. See because we see tiny bits at a time when God sees the big picture.
He knows us better than we know ourselves and has instilled a purpose in each of us better than anything we could hope. If our hopes and plans are in line with His will, then we will get there because He is on our side and nothing can stop us.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? – Romans 8:31
So relax, breathe easy. You don’t have to run ahead and figure it our on your own. You don’t have to get there first. Let God lead. Follow Him and enjoy the journey because if you only have tunnel vision for the destination then you’ll miss out on all the amazing places He wants to take you along the way.
When He’s in front, you have nothing to fear because you have the ultimate tour guide, body guard and navigator.
“For with God nothing will be impossible” -Luke 1:37
Let Him set the pace and stay with Him the whole time. His plans are good and He loves you.
