When I was in 4th grade my family took a trip to Cancun Mexico and it was there that I discovered and became a raving fan of the chocolate monkey (virgin of course)
For my friends who have never had a chocolate monkey, its basically a chocolate banana smoothie with alcohol (or not if you’re a little tyke like I was) and it’s what inspired my newest smoothie bowl creation. The Banana Mocha Smoothie Bowl.

Banana Mocha Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk or milk of choice
- 2 frozen bananas
- 3/4 cup frozen riced cauliflower
- 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
- 1 Tbs cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup oats
- 1 Tbs instant coffee
- dash of cinnamon
- chocolate syrup
Toppings:
- chopped banana
- chocolate syrup
- honey
Directions:
- Blend all ingredients except chocolate syrup into a high speed blender until smooth
- Transfer to a bowl (I use coconut bowls, you can use NICOLETHENOMAD10 for a discount at coconutbowls.com) and fold in a generous amount of chocolate syrup
- Top with bananas and honey and your favorite toppings! Enjoy!
