I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE!

#DOSTUFF

In 2011 I had the most life changing opportunity to travel to Israel with my family and it remains one of the most awe-inspiring places I have ever been. Walking the ancient streets, visiting the historic sites, and standing in the very places where stories from the Bible unfolded brought scripture to life in a way I could never have imagined just reading it. It deepened my faith in the most profound and personal way and left me with a reverence for that land and that history that I carry with me to this day. Some trips change you and this was one of those trips.

The flavors of that region stayed with me just as strongly as the memories did. Pomegranate, tahini, dates, warm spices like cinnamon and cardamom, honey drizzled over everything. Food that feels ancient and nourishing and deeply intentional in a way that made every meal feel meaningful. This pomegranate tahini smoothie bowl is my edible tribute to that trip and those flavors, a way of bringing something from that experience back into my everyday kitchen in a form that is beautiful and nourishing and genuinely delicious.

The tahini is what makes this smoothie bowl so unlike anything else in the rotation. Earthy and rich and slightly nutty in a way that pairs with the sweet tartness of pomegranate in the most surprising and completely perfect combination. Greek yogurt and frozen cauliflower add creaminess and protein without any detectable flavor, frozen banana and strawberry bring natural sweetness, and the date syrup, cinnamon, and cardamom tie everything together into something that tastes warm and complex and completely unique. The riced cauliflower is completely undetectable once blended and adds such a good nutritional boost that I put it in almost every smoothie bowl I make.

Top it with granola, pomegranate pearls, coconut flakes, chopped dates, and a generous drizzle of honey for a bowl that looks as beautiful as it tastes. This is the smoothie bowl for a slow morning when you want your breakfast to feel meaningful, when you want something that looks stunning on the table, or when you just want a bowl that makes you feel really nourished from the very first bite. Every spoonful is a little celebration of flavors that have meant so much to me for a very long time.
